I am pleased to talk to you about our government's OHIP+ Program. Effective January 1, 2018 prescription medications for those individuals 25 years old or younger will be covered by the Provincial government.
Ontario becomes the first Province in Canada to provide this coverage by embarking on the biggest expansion of medicare in a generation which will provide coverage to over four million youth and children across the Province.
As a result, young people have access to over 4,400 medicines completely free of charge. Some of the new publicly funded prescriptions include depression and anxiety medications, insulin and diabetic test strips, antibiotics, asthma inhalers and birth control pills.
This is just part of government's plan to make life more fairer for all Ontario residents.
