I am writing to you this week about Ontario's outstanding economic performance when compared to other places in Canada and abroad.
In the first quarter of 2017, Ontario's GDP grew by 1%. This outperformed Canada and the U.S and all other G7 countries. This further indicates that our government's plan for jobs and economic growth is working and producing results.
In addition to this, business investment in Ontario grew by 5.5%, alongside residential construction which grew by nearly 8%, along with consumer spending which grew by 1% and household disposable income which grew by 0.5%.
These figures indicate that Ontario is on the right track and continues to be an economic leader throughout Canada and around the world.
